9th-11th Grade Pre Registration for the
2021-22 school year

Counselors presented to 9th-11th graders information regarding Pre Registration and elective ranking on Monday, Feb. 22. Elective Ranking needs to be complete no later than Friday, March 5. If you missed the presentations please see the links below to watch.

Course Registration 2021-22

In late March, students will begin receiving emails listing their course requests for the 2021-22 school year. If you would like to request a change please go to the online change request form listed in the email.

Seniors who are requesting Open Periods or Peer Helper periods need to submit a complete application to their school counselor and meet the qualifications. Peer Helpers requires a student to have a cumulative gpa of 3.0 or higher. Students are only allowed one of these options. See forms for more details.

Once you print and sign the form please scan and send to your counselor. No one will be placed in either course without a signed form.

Fresno City College/Clovis Community Application: If they have not already, students need to complete these applications asap. Online orientation will begin the first week of December and this will determine class registration dates in the Spring. Students can find directions in the Counselor’s Teams tile or come to a college application workshop Nov. 30-Dec. 4 from 12:30-4:00. Honors Programs, Scholarships and Private Colleges: Please encourage your student to request any letter of recommendations from their counselor early so they are able to write them the best possible letter. Info about Receiving Disabled Student Services at Community College

Seniors who currently have a 504 or IEP plan or a documented disability are likely eligible to receive services and accommodations in college but you must apply for these services. We wanted to share a recording of the virtual meeting held earlier this week with the Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) staff member, Pam Tibbet, explaining how to access these services at Fresno City College and Clovis Community College.

College application and Financial Aid FAFSA season is now upon us. The 2021-22 FAFSA application for financial aid, the CSU and UC college application window all open Oct 1. The BHS counseling office will be offering a variety of workshops and presentations as well as one on one help throughout the season. FUSD Driver’s Education Courses – COURSE IS FULL WE WILL REOPEN QUARTER 2

Fresno Unified is now offering
Online Driver’s Education Courses

The first round of Virtual Driver’s Ed classes will be
September 14- October 9
Mandatory attendance Monday-Friday
from 8:15am-9:00am or 2:30pm-3:15pm daily
(you will be assigned to either the am or pm time)
Additional classes will be offered Quarter 2, 3, & 4.

Course Description:
The online Driver Education course is designed to teach students the concepts and laws related to driving a vehicle. 
Topics include:  Learning about Driving, Rules of the Road, Defensive Driving, and Causes and Prevention of Accidents.
The course earns 2.5 academic credits with a passing grade of credit/no credit and meets the DMV minimum requirement of 30 hours of classroom instruction to obtain a learner’s permit.  This course is the classroom portion only and does not include the “behind the wheel” portion.  

Students must be at least 15 years old before the start of the course.  Students must be at least 15 ½ years old to take the permit test and apply for the learner’s permit through the Department of Motor Vehicles.  It is recommended that students take the course as close as possible to the intended permit test date.

Reminder! Last Day for Schedule Change Requests is Thursday August 13 at 6pm. Click on links below to request your change.

2020-21 Schedules will be on ATLAS starting August 10

Your schedule will be accessible to you on Monday, August 10 via your ATLAS student portal. Please log on Monday and double check it and make sure everything looks good! We worked really hard to give you the courses you requested in the Spring as well as review your credits and summer school completions if you have them. If you have an error please use the links below to request a schedule change. Keep in mind we will not be changing teachers or periods and changes will be limited to space.

Schedule change requests will only be made through these links and we will work on them as fast as we can. Watch your portal and your change will show there, give us at least 24 hours to review your request. The deadline to submit your schedule change request is Thursday, August 13 at 6:00pm. We will not be making schedule changes after this date, We know this is different than usual but we need you and your teacher to be ready for Distance Learning and make sure you can access your class online when school starts.

AP Information 2020

AP Testing is going online this Spring. The dates and details for the online exams will be released by College Board by April 3. There will be 2 different test dates and the exams will be 45 minutes long and will test content most classes have covered by March. College Board will also offer online lessons to prepare students.

Senior Fresno City College Updated Info

3-24-2020 Here is an updated information from Fresno City College. If you have not completed advising (we did it at Bullard before we left) you can do it online (see flyer). You must have this step completed in order to register for classes.

Important Reminders Flyer – Spring 2020 Update

Registration dates are now May 19-21. You are assigned a date and time and can register for classes anytime after you assigned date/time.

SAT School Day

March 25 BHS qualified Juniors will be taking the SAT Test. There is no cost for this test and testers will be notified of their testing location via pass on March 23. Testers were also sent a pass last week and a school messenger call was sent home. Students should bring a photo ID, 2 sharpened #2 pencils and an approved calculator.

Senior College Application Workshops

Our Bullard seniors have been working hard at completing college applications for Fresno City College, CSUs, UCs and private universities as well as their FAFSA financial aid applications. The deadline for CSU and UC applications to be submitted is no later than November 30.

We are highly encouraging all students submitting a CSU application to make sure and check with a Bullard counselor or CSU rep before submitting as there are some tricky spots within the application that can trip up our students. Bullard counselors will be available to assist with college applications and FAFSA financial aid every day at lunch or students can submit a request to meet with their counselor with Ms. Edwards in the counseling office. Counselors will also be offering a drop in day next Tuesday, November 19 from 2:00-6:00 in the Bullard Library and Thursday November 21 from 2:00-4:30 in the Bullard Library.

PSAT Wednesday October 16, 2019

All students Grades 9-11 will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday October 16. Students will check into 1st period and then proceed to their testing locations at 8:10. Students received their testing locations on Monday in their 2nd period course. Students should bring a snack, two number 2 pencils and an approved calculator. Students will be on a minimum day schedule. Testing will end at 12:45, lunch will be served and buses will depart at 1:15.

Seniors will be working on FAFSA, CSU applications and Fresno City College presentations as well as take the Senior Aerial photo. Students must be present in the workshops to be allowed in the picture. Seniors will be released after the photo is completed around 12:00.

Schedule distribution will be as follows:
Seniors – Aug 5th 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the cafeteria
Juniors – Aug 6th 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the cafeteria
Sophomores – Aug 5th 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the cafeteria

Freshmen Orientation (Last Name A-L)– August 5: North Gym  8:00 AM – 1:00 PM for all in-coming freshmen
Freshmen Orientation (Last Name M-Z)– August 6: North Gym  8:00 AM – 1:00 PM for all in-coming freshmen

Students will need to bring their COMPLETED first day packets (mailed home end of July or pick up in the main office), including emergency cards, with them to Schedule Distribution or freshmen orientation.

Bullard’s Registration will open the first week of August 8am-4pm to register new students with extended hours until 7pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
