High School Course Guide
A total of 230 credits must be earned for high school graduation. Students are granted five (5) credits for successfully completing each semester course with the grade of a “D” or better. Credits must be earned in the following subject areas:
English Language Arts – 40 credits
Modern World History – 10 credits
United States History – 10 credits
American Government- 5 credits
Economics – 5 credits
Biological Science – 10 credits
Physical Science – 10 credits
Biological/Physical Science – 10 credits
Algebra I – 10 credits
Geometry – 10 credits
Mathematics – 10 credits
Physical Education – 20 credits
Fine Art/Foreign Language – 10 credits
Electives – 70 credits (*60 credits starting with the Class of 2027)
Ethnic Studies – 10 credits (*starting with the Class of 2027)
Total: 230 credits
